FQFI Mission

Our mission is to produce and own quinoa farms in Guyana that are economically and environmentally sustainable in tropical and subtropical climates.

FQFI has partnered with the Government of Guyana, and the National Agricultural Research and Extension Institute, the United Nations/ Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO), and quinoa farming Experts from Brigham Young University, University of Maryland E/S, and Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile to participate in the production of Guyanese quinoa in helping to meet the global market demands for consumption of this highly nutritious grain.

We believe that our quinoa farming will serve as an alternative sustainable grain for generations to come, for the primary stakeholders in Guyana. The stakeholders include the farmers, the government of Guyana, and the international quinoa consumers who support the quinoa production expansion; for their consumption of this highly nutritious grain.

Farming Sustainability
The major factor of our quinoa farming business in Guyana is to provide the local farmers, including female farmers, the opportunity to plant and grow their own quinoa grains to sustain themselves, their families and the economy.

Environmentally Sustainable
Guyana is well endowed with fertile agricultural lands, and extensive tropical forest which covers more than 80% of the country, with 90% of the country’s forest still intact. Therefore, the natural fertility of the soil has facilitated our quinoa farming project on a large scale for exportation. With the growing demand for dietary health awareness, the quinoa grain is in high demand on the global market for its nutritional source of protein with eight (8) essential amino acids, carbohydrates, minerals, low fats and gluten free essential for human growth and development.
